Cake, obviously

 It's here. The moment you for which you have all been waiting . . . The hot take to end all hot takes: which is better, CAKE OR PIE? (the obvious and only true answer is cake) This question formed the foundation of my grad school experience. It became the hot take that, if it didn't start the hot take session, it definitely escalated it! So, in true hot take fashion, we will have a short, unresearched, purely emotionally-driven discussion regarding cake and pie. 

To start, anyone who believes that pie is better is misguided. They are great people, and I love them dearly, but cake is the absolute best. I'm not gonna lie, pie definitely has its pros. I mean, it does taste wonderful. Other than that, I can't think of anything else to say about it. 

Cake, on the other hand, I love with my whole being. Yes, cake can be dry, but honestly, that's the baker's fault, not the cake's. Also, to those of you with that answer, where are you getting your cakes?? Look for someone else to make it. Cake also can be so much more diverse than pies. For pies, you either have cream pies or fruit pies, whereas cake can come as tiered cake, a poke cake (which basically encompasses cream pies with the pudding), angel food cake, fruit cake, etc., etc. And then you have icing and all the wonderful combinations that result from that!! Ugh, just give me a cake already!

But, I must also acknowledge those who would say "neither" (you know who you are). I would just like to say, it's not a valid answer. The hot take is cake or pie. Pick one. I still love you, but my sister wants to fight you. Pick one. 

While not a fully developed answer, because cake ~just is~ the better option, the whole hot take is built on the back and forth of mortal enemies. So, if you disagree, or you agree and just want to voice your support, comment. I want to hear all your opinions, although I might not accept them.
